A location based information processing node capable of controlling many thousands of devices

The NIM is designed to work as part of a company network and is responsible for maintaining the link between the access control devices and the database. It requires a static IP address to allow the Midspan bridges to communicate with it.

The NIM can be physically located any distance from the bridges so long as they are accessible on the network to each other.
