Control and monitor local and remote sites over a network

http://www.borerdatasystems.co.uk/images/products/slio42.jpg

The Borer CAN Ethernet Bridge allows companies and organisations to use their existing network infrastructure to connect access controlled doors and monitored alarms within the Borer management system.

The bridge provides a link from the Local Area Network (LAN) to the Controller Area Network (CAN) on to which access control readers and related devices are connected. By utilizing the LAN infrastructure, installation time and maintenance effort are significantly reduced.

Importantly, CAN and IP are not polling networks and only send information on demand ensuring network traffic is kept to a minimum. Being a native IP device allows the bridge to be installed over subnets at remote sites, providing remote monitoring and centralised data processing. Each CAN Ethernet Bridge can host up to 60 access devices/doors.

Features:

  • Utilize existing network to reduce the need for bespoke cabling
  • High speed communications combining industry standard high speed Ethernet and Controller Area Networks
  • Efficient use of Ethernet employing Event Driven transmission on demand, not polling
  • Centralised and distributed monitoring and control using the existing network Infrastructure to manage remote facilities
  • Ease of deployment requires only 1 RJ45 network point and a static IP address per bridge
  • Native TCP/IP enabling efficient communications across sub-networks and gateways
  • Immune to Infiltration from network borne virus, Trojan horse and spyware
